The series contains the subject files of the marketing department of the State Board of Conservation from 1965 to 1967. The subject files document the interaction between the Board and its marketing department and home economists; other state and national government agencies; and members of the seafood industry. The State Board of Conservation was created in 1933 (Ch. 16178, Laws). The Board licensed salt water fishing boats; controlled the state's geological and water resources, including conservation and geologic surveys; encouraged the development of waterways; controlled the flood control and water management districts; and promoted the seafood industry in Florida.
